When is the Chester, SC plant due to open? And will there be a need for drivers from that area? Thanks

That's a common problem with truck shops. Crete's shop in Wilmer TX was lucky to keep a mechanic more than a year. Like truck drivers, they'd hire mechanics right out of tech school, once they hit a year experience they would run for the money elsewhere.

Actually majestyk pretty much said what I heard. Every load after the 12th of February pays 52 cpm and only 1 free drop instead of the current 2. Breakdown $100 a day and layover I heard at $150.

Yes they already pay retail layover but I think it's going to be on backhaul to, we will see. Poly will pay for a hotel when broke down as long as needed. The only change there is they want you to keep driver supervisors informed and unlike before they won't give u the option of sitting their until the truck is fixed. They expect you to take the ride with another driver they find willing to pick you up.

Also best pass or whatever it's called has already been approved. Haven't heard if they ordered them or what they are waiting on but was told they are coming.

    GambitRider and 28 Thank this.

I dont know exactly, I think we were told April of this year maybe. I know I was there earlier this month and it doesn't look like they have to much left to finish.
As far as needing drivers I imagine they will, at the drivers meeting they asked if any drivers would be interested in being dedicated out of that plant to let their driver supervisor know. What dedicated out of that plant means I wouldn't know lol.

I'm curious to hear how the E logs work out
for you guys that run so hard.

I run legal and take the best runs ( NW , Fla and NE )
but don't come anywhere close to your averages.

Keep the Poly thread updated if you don't mind

So... for a guy living near the GP plant is Poly beginning to look a bit better. Is 14 days out and a week off still doable here?

I'm wondering if its worth a shot for me to send an app in for that plant. By the time it opens, I'll have 9 months under my belt. I have a clean driving record, all endorsements, and a referral from of Poly driver.
