I can see the reason(s) for Poly not going into Cali...but I'm one of those screwed up idiots that would miss not ever seeing that state again. Not that I would miss the regulation hassles, or the traffic, or the sloooooow speed limit, or the many fruit and nutcakes that live out there, or the DOT (not that they ever really bothered me too much)...it has some beautiful scenery in a lot of the areas. But I won't let that stop me from applying soon...

Funny, I kind of thought the same thing before I came over to Poly. However, after running these last two loads out west I don't miss it as much. I took a load to the Henderson,NV and now out in Washington state. Getting my West fill quite well. Not Cali but good west run reminders. Hang in there. It's really good running for Poly for me. Take care!

He said he read through the thread not meaning every page and since most people don't talk about Cali every day. He might have skipped through that page. Wow it's not that serious guy. Take a chill pill. Glad you are enjoying yourself at Polly. Good thread to read because not much complaining.

They are a little to old school for me. Loving my prepass and ezpass, and I haven't had to right down the mileage in a state for like 14 years. My Gps does that but it is not always accurate. Would love that hub pay, but not the hassle to wait to get paid until you are back to office. Killer stop pay as well. But I'll live through you guys. Having to shell out cash for the tolls going to the NE been there done that. Not looking forward to doing that ever again, but hey work smarter not harder. You guys have fun and take it easy on the guys who don't read every page. God bless.

Hey, you are correct. It's not that serious and wasn't written in a serious or upset response from me. I am chill and was having some fun with it. I didn't say that person read every page. In fact, I mentioned that there were a lot of pages and some probably hadn't been read. I gave a couple very true statements and was messing with them on the rest. Sorry if it read to serious for you. Wasn't intended to fire anyone up. Think that should cover defending my Posts enough. Maybe Ryanj will even thank you for all of whatever that was. Anyways, glad you like the thread. Sounds like you have read all or most of it. Every place has Pros and Cons. We just got to figure out which ones we are willing to work through or live with or whatever. It is old school doing some things here at Poly. Some of those things you mentioned takes some getting used to for sure. Look forward to seeing more of your Posts and hope this message cleared some things up from my last two Posts. Take care!

Majestyk, when you get load offers at Poly, how are they offered to you? By phone or computer? And does each offer show the total miles of the trip - or what kind of info is proffered please? Thanks.

Majestyk is presently standing in line with me at SAMs club and his Internet is down so he has given me permission to answer your question.
We receive load offers via telephone. You are told what loads are available and you can ask questions as to stops and delivery dates. I have never asked for mileage breakdown, but I guess they could tell you that too.

Thanks Chemster! Appreciate the info. I get nervous when you mention standing in line at Sam's Club - every time I'm there with the wifey it runs no less than $400. Luckily we go there just once every 3 years :biggrin_25525: J/K, it's a monthly thing! BTW if you do all your business by phone, do you even have Q/Comms in the trucks? And what about logs - Electronic or paper? Thanks again.

I'm not gonna disappear if I did. Pay like this and the choice of loads , along with stop/drop+hook pay doesn't happen much. Private carriers are the way to go , I'll keep trying , if I have to fill out more apps , then I will. Eventually I'll get in. Even if I have to stay put and get a yr or 2 with Shaffer , I don't have a problem backing up , but those 2 mishaps I had early 2011 , goes to show , exactly what happens when you get a little over confident and too relaxed. Those may be the deal breaker me not getting called. My fault no one to blame but me.

Still paper logs, was told tonight they are updating the QC to be able to do the e-logs if it is ever mandated but said they would not due it until then. We due most of our stuff via phone and they pay us 50.00 a month toward that bill as well. We use the QC mainly to update when we will be available for our next load and when empty. My QC has went off I think 3 times in 2.5 months here:)
