You would easily but you wouldn't go home as much as i do. Yes theres several who make more than i do but i bet theres not more than a couple if any that take as much hometime and make more.

Im averaging 10k miles a month with 5-8 days home a month. I choose not to go west.

Absolutely. How one chooses to approach OTR is totally their own business. That's actually one of the reasons I like OTR so much...it offers certain freedoms you just won't find in any other occupation.

I credit my boss Jim Andler at my first "real job" at Safeco Insurance Co. in the late 1980s for inculcating the philosophy I've held ever since. In the interview, Jim said: "If you're gonna work, you might as well make some money."

Money is great, but financial freedom is better. It’s what you do with what you make that matters. That was my point.

Clinton Portis made $45 mil during a 9 year NFL career. Know where he’s at today? Bankrupt. His $45 mil is long gone!

He still makes over $11k a month. Why did he file for bankruptcy? His expenses are over $15k a month.

Point being, money doesn’t mean much if you can’t manage it. I’m better off today than Clinton Portis and I haven’t made $45 mil in my entire life. Lol

That’s why I get a chuckle out of these “my wanker is bigger than yours” debates that go on in here occasionally.

I get a kick out of all the old folks that had financial difficulties, like almost every other young person, and now they’re in their waning years and somewhat secure, and they forget what it’s was like to be young and they think all young people should live like they do now.
    Think about that

I think you read my post wrong. That said, it’s rather presumptuous of you to think you know the first thing about my finances. FYI, I’ve never had financial difficulties in my life.

Furthermore, all I said was it’s not what you make that counts, but how you manage what you make that counts.

Oh, btw @tucker, I don’t care, nor judge, how anyone chooses to use their money. But, when someone comes in here and makes a snide comment like “that’s all you make”, like the person did when Army Guy posted what he makes, then I do like to point out that it’s not what you make that really matters.

Just want to make that clear because it appears like you think I posted from a judgmental stand point. I did not. I was basically telling the poster that perhaps they shouldn’t worry about ArmyGuy’s situation. If he’s happy, then power to him.
