They are associated with Big G....good luck...was with Big G for exactly 6 months before I called an Uber to take me to the bus station because they almost drove me broke.

Low pay per mile, low miles, and the operations people could plan a trip to the toilet without screwing it up and dropping a brownie in their BVD's. Once or twice I was dispatched and undispatched on 5+ loads in one day. Put me on a load, start towards the customer, change it to another load...etc.

Big G and Goggin Cold Storage are not necessarily operating the same way. I worked for Goggin Truck Lines before Old Dominion bought them out in 1998 and Goggin was nothing like Big G. My experience at Goggin Truck Lines was all positive. I wouldn't work at Big G.

Never could figure out if pronounced GOO-gin, GAW-gin or GO-gin ! Hey, I'm bored today. And then Big "G" comes along from the same city, Shelbyville, with same color orange markings.

I never worked for Goggin cold storage. I worked for the parent company Goggin Truck Lines , of which Goggin cold storage is a splinter or survivor. and I did only truckload express OTR. I hate reefers enough I wouldn't work for ANY reefer company. Call them or go to their yard and talk to drivers, nothing else is going to give you a good description of any company.

It's pronounced Gah gin, rhymes with noggin which you hit if you ride a toboggin through the trees.

Goggin and Big G were owned by the same partners. Goggin Truck Lines was the full-service do everything business like Averitt Express or Old Dominion. They had a network of terminals all over the Southeast. They had linehaul, warehousing, P&D, and then had OTR. Big G was supposed to be the OTR only division. Goggin and Big G shared yards, but not drivers or equipment. We called Big G I-81 Express. I can't remember if the partners were the two Marsh brothers and someone else or Pat Marsh and his brother. I'm thinking there was one other partner who got involved in politics. Goggin was the oldest trucking company in TN. I think they started in 1896, long before anyone had trucks with internal combustion engines. They used to have one of the restored old time wooden trucks in the lobby. It looked like an old time milk truck with wagon wheels. A little like this, but not a flatbed https://external-content.duckduckgo...id=OIP.15BiGOLG2ZKPKI7upUU58QHaFb&pid=Api&f=1

I would still be working for Goggin if OD hadn't bought them out. Great company and great people. OD stopped allowing pets and stopped doing OTR from Shelbyville.
