It’s a VHF radio, I use it to communicate with my pilot cars. In Western Canada no one runs a CB, they all use VHF radios.

Would you please explain a VHF radio vs. a CB radio? Serious question. I am not familiar with radio equipment and there operation at all. Thanks.

    JerseyBarrierRacer Thanks this.

They are both transmission radios, the difference is they us different frequencies. The cb band is between 26.965 MHz and 27.405 MHz. This vhf radio broadcasts between 136.000MHz and 173.000 MHz.

For us the vhf band is much clearer and has a better range. 10 miles is pretty easy truck to truck. Most people on the CB sound like they have a mouth full of marbles.

The cb is necessary for me to run with pilots outside of my normal group.

No need for silly CB’s. I had to use this new fangled technology yesterday to inform a white Volvo crowd driver that his trailer turn signal was not working.

To his credit, he could, and immediately pulled into a safe stop.
