    Hi Friends,

Reading and reviewing threads and i want to say THANKS to all those for your constructive help.
I am going to pay for my own CDL based on the opinions of drivers on the forum.

    QUESTION:
WHAT ARE some of the better companies to train with to get 6mths under your belt?

I guess a reefer truck is refrigerated, a flatbed is for hauling construction or cars, and a dry is a semi that pulls cargo....correct?

Not sure...but what would be best to get experience in?

    Correct.

Get experience in whichever interests you. There's also tanker jobs which pays very well.

Chinatown should know which companies are in south florida.

    and welcome to TR!!

    jjsiegal Thanks this.

Also, your cdl school will know some companies you can look in to. And there will probably be recruiters come by your school trying to recruite you.

Pull tanks. Best money in the industry as far as I'm concerned! Indian River hires out of Florida.

Your location is important. Update your profile with your location.

Aside from that, avoid the large companies at all costs. Find a small, local outfit to work for. The big companies won't do you any favors.
