The fine is up to $2,750 to the driver and up to $11,000 to the carrier if the carrier is shown to be negligent in enforcing no cell phone use. And it's based on history as well, so the likelihood of getting max fines the first time is extremely low.

Because it’s a nightmare when a marked police car drives slower than the speed limit.
Everybody is scared and will not pass him so they all jam in behind him.

 

Most truck drivers I see are playing on their phone, most are looking down staring at it but a lot of them will hold it up in the air for the whole world to see.

 

That is true as hell. My friend use to own a retired police crown vic. Every time I rode with him we always ran into issues with people just jamming up and doing 10 under the limit.

 

Yes, cops do this. I have spoken to several about this. Some do it because they have been ordered to pace traffic. It sounds silly and I had a hard time believing it at first. However after hearing this from more then one cop I just shake my head.
