So I booked a load said 6ft or 8ft tarps ok. Shipper said 6ft tarps OK. Well I get loaded and I don't even 8ft tarps will cover it! So I told them to take it off. I'm not gonna have my tarps Ballon for 800 miles and get shredded. He starts going crazy. Says I'm going to put in a report to landstar and get you banned. So I immediately called customer service sent her pics and said it's not safe to have 2-3 ft space. She agreed and got the broker on the phone and falt out told him NEVER tell a carrier you're gonna get him banned for being safe. And it can not be hauled like that would you like me to transfer you to heavy haul and they can explain it to you. Just felt good not being the ##### for a change
Got a landstar broker in trouble today!

Bungies and straps over the tarps would’ve worked but hey not my time not my truck.
feldsforever, Coffey, snowwy and 5 others Thank this. -
I don’t think it would’ve hurt the tarps, pulled down tight strapped on outside,
But you’re the captain of that ship, but could open up a potential damage claim on other end if receiver wanted to be a jerk.feldsforever, mitmaks, Coffey and 2 others Thank this. -
Seems like you would of known the tarp drop wasn’t enough as soon as the units were on the deck……
To load and tarp and strap the whole load and then bail seems unprofessional.
But what to I know……..

When I have a broker trying to tell me 2 different tarp sizes... I will ask how much of the item needing tarped needs to be covered. I take it as it doesn't need to be covered to the deck.
feldsforever and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
I’ve hauled loads that just needed a top tarp like that dozens of times. Never tore my tarps up, and they never ballooned either.
Cat sdp, feldsforever, John E. and 1 other person Thank this.
