How did it cost you $2K?
Mine was $99 and I only had to pay $35 copay, insurance covered the rest.

Just had mine yesterday. As I was sitting there waiting for the doctor, I noticed sleep apnea posters on the wall. I started getting worried they were going to push the study.

Fortunately, no study needed and I got out of there for $73.

Doc doing my physical measured my neck but Im just a skinny guy and I didn't have to do sleep study. Of course there's bunch of questions, do you snore, can you be heard snoring from other room, do you wake up at night short of breath, etc.
if you answer YES to any of those they'll want you to get sleep study. Very convenient for them to get you to wear one of those CPAP machines, they make tons of money on this scamrogram.

65 for 2 years, license is good for a couple more years. Went 1 day over for the exam, ran the results to the courthouse and gave my boss a copy of the card.

Neck size, well anyone doing heavy physical work will have a more muscular neck. My son was in Bosnia at Camp Bedrock for a 6 month tour and had to wear the Kevlar helmet, his neck was very thick when he got out, but he looks about normal now, he was about 20 or 21 then and will be 40 the day before Halloween.

The more exhausted you are, the more likely you are to snore. Older people as a group, sleep less soundly than others. And a good mattress that is supportive and comfortable will probably help more than anything else, and a proper pillow next. OSA is not rare, but it isn't as certain you will get it as some other things. If you have it and cpap works for you, great, but it doesn't improve things for everyone.

How private is one's medical history anyway? They ask a lot of questions, almost like you're a criminal suspect.
