Well hittin my head may have been for the best. I have a real trainer this time. He’s been driving 20+ years and already taught me more in 1 pre trip than the other dude taught me in a week. I’m chipping away at hours again. The only problem is I’ll probably only have a week more with this trainer.

A week more with the trainer is fine; you'll be ok.
When I pulled flatbed, I'd look at the load before securing it. Then picture in my mind what would happen if I braked hard or had to make a quick lane change to right or left or what would happen if I suddenly came upon a sharp curve.
Then I secured accordingly.
