    I’ll have to chalk this up as a learning experience. Sounds like your trainer was a little bit nicer than mine. I don’t really blame him though, Western Express is making it very difficult for him to pay his lease.

    To be a trainer at Weatern Express you only “need” 20,000 miles solo. I use the word need loosely because there’s no actual rule. So some guys quite literally go from no CDL to trainer in less than 4 months.

    I would say not a chance! There’s a line of people at every terminal waiting for trainers. I don’t think their business model works without high turnover, but they need trainers, who signed leases.

    Western Express trucks have safety net with 3 latches on the top bunk. I don’t think they have a no top bunk policy.
