This is the second time I got summoned in a year. I’m a Michigan citizen who got summoned last year and didn’t go. I then called them and asked could I be excused because im an OTR truck driver and didn’t know I was summoned. I thought I was in the clear. I then recieve mail saying I’ve been summoned again for later this month. If I don’t go again, what happens? I can’t afford to be stuck in jury duty right now.

You call and get an exemption again. Not going and not notifying them is going to be a fun experience

Fill out the notification, and mark or write in for your reasons for excuse. If you’re excused, it’s for this calling only. If you blow them off, and don’t show, depending on Mich. laws, you may be in deep doo doo.
Just because you are called, does not necessarily mean you will chosen or seated on a jury for a trial.

I have been called four times in the past two years down here in Texas. I call on Friday night to see if I need to appear, and have been excused every time.

I told NC courts that I was an OTR and I couldn't stay home for $50/week.

did it about 5 times and they quit sending them. lol

Call the city or state or the phone number in the notice. Some locatio s do nothing. Some will swear out a warrant & you'll be arrested next time you contact police, maybe even DOT.

Strangers on the internet are not going to bail you out or pay your bills if their info is wrong.

It should tell you right on the summons who to contact, contact them, offer them a copy of your logs (official documents) if they need proof and tell them you can not take the time off at this time. MIchigan is really easy going about Jury Duty.
