I have a Garmin Nuvi 465 with lifetime map updates.
I use it mainly for local delivery 100 mile radius of Portland OR.
Map updates have consumed the internal memory and I have lost all my non US map coverage.
The last update I had to install an external SD memory chip to be able to hold just the US update.
I have not gotten a local update for 3 years or so.
The old bridges that have been updated in southern washington county and the Garmin sends me on ridiculous loopy 20+ mile route to get somewhere 5 miles away.

It has many truck restricted streets that have been upgraded for 5 years or better to allow trucks.
I'm getting really sick of it, the "not a truck route" warning pops up on the screen and covers the entire map. Often I enjoy "Local Delivery" status and could care less if I am on an approved route. But the warning covers the map on every turn and I have to click out of the warning screen to see the map. This becomes problematic if I have to turn again in a short distance. I spend time clearing useless warnings while driving when I need map info, that often equates to missing turns and/or driving distracted and making abrupt lane changes. The unit is almost useless in Troutdale sending me on loopy routes around non-existent restricted streets.

The entire screen should not be covered with a stupid warning unless I am 1/4 mile or less from a weight restricted bridge or a low bridge. It routes me away or complains a mile out from either of these when there are cross streets or other open routes between me and the obstacle.

It does not have accurate scale locations (again many years old data), most OR scales are for only one direction and my 465 often alerts on a scale that is for the other direction.

My other gripe is the current speed bubble should have a red background if I am over the speed limit, and maybe a chirp at over +5 that is cancelable.

Another thing I would like is to be able to override or create a preferred route or train the unit to ignore/allow certain restricted routes.

So I am shopping a new unit and don't have much confidence in Garmin, Looking for suggestions and interested in hearing how or if other MFGRs have dealt with the issues I have with the Nuvi 465.

Heading over to the truck to bring some groceries, charge the batteries, maybe take a little nap...back to work tomorrow...can't rush these things.
