Pulled into the Laredo check station tonite after unloading and as usaul the dog fell in love with my trailer jumping up on the tires and licking the rub rail and the handler thinking he has really hit the jackpot .
So on the platform asks me what I'm hauling and I tell him I'm empty as the dog is goin nuts , next question is what were you hauling ? ...cattle hides as I starting laughing as they do plugging their noses telling me get the hell outa there .
Had a good laugh with border patrol this evening .

All of mine without fail sniff the 5th wheel and could care less in those check stations. Ive always wondred what would happen if I had a load of quality dogfood aboard.

I roll into those things with the "Danger Zone" or "What is love" cranked yelling at them "American citizen, freight all kinds, just me, loads going to (place name) and I will be the only driver." Keeps the line moving.

I was hauling a load of chew toys and the dog went bezerk...the inspection at the checkpoint was so deep that the border patrol guy still sends me Valentine's Day cards

My first run back from laredo i pulled into the check station there on 35nb, get up to the guy at the over hang and he asks his standard, "are you a us citizen" i replied "si senior", his face had absolutely zero emotion, he says "let's try that again". I said "yes sir" with a big ### smile on my face. He then says, please proceed over to the xray machine....i was an empty flatbed...

Most working dogs are trained to set when they detect the substance that they are trained to detect. That way the handlers know what the dog is doing. There are a lot of poorly trained handlers and poorly trained dogs. I've seen a lot of dogs that have their handlers trained.
There's nothing like sitting in line at an ECP because the dog sat on a local dump truck. We hire local drivers for construction work. When they aren't doing construction, they haul ammonia nitrate fertilizer.passingthru69, NavigatorWife and bzinger Thank this. -
I go thru there weekly and rarely see those guys smile let alone laugh .Getsinyourblood and NavigatorWife Thank this.

Try entering an overseas State Department site where the guards can and will kill you if you don't follow their instructions.
Lepton1 and NavigatorWife Thank this.
