Just wait until it's a hot (100+ heat index) day with the typical mid-south humidity and you're delivering 1/2" lime to a paper mill. They have you unloading into a silo with a rather long push, and the driver ahead of you plugged the line and left. You're on a black asphalt lot right under a kiln as you work to unplug the line with a full trailer.
I don't know HOW hot it was where I was working...hung this up in the shade near where I was working and in about 5 minutes, this is what it was showing:
With no AC in my truck, I was standing behind the engine fan to cool off once the line was clear and I could start unloading.REO6205, Frank Speak, Rugerfan and 1 other person Thank this. -
The driver ahead of you plugged the line and then left? Why?
Did he at least let you know that the line was plugged or did he just bail?
If one of our guys did that there would be a short but very effective educational session.MagnumaMoose Thanks this. -

I kept a log of miles, location and activities at all times. Had a freaky fast time of 22 minutes from pad entrance to pad departure. Sand Coordinater ( same company and we knew each other for a while already ) call me inbound and asked me where I was at. 3 minutes out. I'm in a hurry for the load. I'll meet you at the guard shack. Ok. ...... No other sand trucks in the way and the pad was right next to the paved road. He backed me into position and even hooked up the discharge hose ( 2 and a half footer. Very short. ) while I put the cone out and hooked the hot hose up. FR's etc. Twirled his index finger and said " let 'er rip. I've been wanting this for 50 minutes already. Your compartments empty. Go ! " ....... I thought the Boss was mad at me when I called in my Empty call. Later I realized he was just shocked because I was not considered a very good hand, as I had problems with clogging with the Truck I had before. Equipment change made a huge difference in my learning curve. Sometimes your the windshield, sometimes your the bug.Cottonmouth85 Thanks this. -
