    Much respect to you, @marmonman . You've earned your retirement, so enjoy it. But don't be in any hurry to sell your truck, you just might enjoy taking it to town every now and then for the memories, or pulling a float in the local parade, or just putting a smile on a kid's face by letting them ride on the jump seat.

    Congratulations...
    I have bowed to the will of the government and corporate bureaucracy as I'm still at it w a automatic trans, an ELD and 5 cameras on the rig.
    But next year I'm putting myself out to pasture too.
    Will be 50 years.
    Hoping ya got a long life of living ahead, and to do it on your own terms and again congrats.

    Thank you for your 40+ years of service out here on the road.. The industry lost another good driver. Hope you are able to find enjoyment outside of trucking..

    28 years with one outfit is a milestone in itself.

    I don't blame you one bit - a lot of our older hands are deciding this is the time to enjoy life and let the battle go to others.

    Enjoy what you do now, and as said, don't be a stranger round here, and I think you'll be hauling a few more loads of beans and grains than you plan on when the itch gets itchy.

    Thanks for your commitment to this industry over the years.

    @marmonman
    congrats on your retirement.
    I am glad you were able to choose your retirement time, and will keep the old girl at least for a time.
    Work your friends/local connections for the odd local/regional trip for backup or sick-time relief.
    This is much better than my way; cold turkey after a massive heart attack and my D/L reduced to private vehicles only.
