If the pay is more and justifies the move, then consider it that way. Of course you will be out the remainder, but if you make more than your payments then you're good to go. I don't get the miles deal, I mean I do, but the way they pick the routes is stupid. I had a load last week that was 57 miles short of what I ran. I ask dispatch how to get there for the difference. They give me directions to shipper. I said I know where the shipper is, I need directions from there to cons. So he gives me last few miles off of interstate. I said no, I need the directions from shipper to cons. for the difference of the 57mi. He said he couldn't tell me.

    Don't feel bad.
The last company sent me from a receiver to the new shipper and wanted to pay 11 miles. I ran it on the gps and computer and it was 63 mile or so.

Asked them to send the route so I could drive it since I was coming up with something longer.

The head dispatcher said we use city border to city border. I said, you expect me to drive for free? Do you work for free?

    No answer.

Jozett, Thank you for your feed back very helpful. I live in little Rock and I was wondering If USA let you take your truck home or do ya have to take it back to their terminal and then drive home?

Little Rock is ~150 miles which means you'll be driving the truck home unless you really want to park the truck in VanBuren...

I live ~200 miles from Vandalia, OH Terminal and only time I see that place is (sadly) when I have a service scheduled. I like going to our Cleveland ABF Drop Yard and dropping my load, take an empty (if available), then deadhead 70 miles home :).

The last 72 hours have been a nightmare for me. I woke up this morning with a horrible tension headache from it all. I had a service failure over the weekend because a LC screwed me over. I got screwed over by breakdown again too. I also found out I had a phantom load about 2 hours ago, another service failure. I have been took off 2 loads because I could not deliver them on time because of issues beyond my control. I am not making any money, I am unhappy and starting to question wither I should put my health at risk because of this tension USA Truck has put me under. I won't abandon this truck, but I suspect the next time I get to spartanburg will be my last day with them. I can't help but wonder am I the only one?

Just do your time like the rest of 'em. Get your experience and look for the gold. It's not worth giving it up, when there is better out there. Hang tight, and make a good decision on your next move to make it count.

Make that 3 loads I have lost. This nightmare just keeps on keeping on. As I write this I am about 90 minutes from Vandalia. I have give some serious thought to just going there and cleaning out my tractor shipping my stuff home and getting on the first dog headed south. I've had it. Contract or no contract I still have this tension headache and am very close to cussing everybody at operations out.

Well some of this came to a head today. Last night about 8 PM my tractor broke down on the West Virginia Turnpike. This was the last straw for Jim Shafer as well as Operations. My FM wants me to go on the dog to get another tractor, as I type this I am in a hotel in Beckley still waiting on where to go. I think the main hold up is my refusal to drive a none APU tractor. I can't drive the ICON system tractors because I can't sleep in them without wearing earplugs. I have a ton of downtime and operations would not pay me for the downtime. I was give a small amount Tuesday night. I stood my ground with FM this morning about this. I did do it without getting angry or using foul language. He told me his supervisor would not authorize more. I told him I that as much as I liked him and did not want to quit getting this downtime was NOT an option if they wanted me to continue my employment with the company. I told him what I would settle for and he hung up. After about 2 hours I gave up on this and wrote FM a q com message. I told my FM on the q com today it was nice working for him and I was sorry it ended that way it did. He called me and told me he had got approval for a lot more money for downtime and was still looking for a tractor. So if he can get me into a tractor and can keep me loaded I will be happy. Nothing has happened yet, it is only words. However if FM's words are true and they come through with this downtime and this other tractor will run and not be in the shop every week maybe I can make some money, if so I will be happy and proud to drive the big white truck, if not then I will leave. I ask you guys am I being fair?

I am in the super 8 in Roanoke Va now. I actually like my new tractor it is not scared up like my old one, however it's permit book is missing and I have to now wait till Monday to either get it or get a new one made. The company is paying for the room and paying me more downtime. It is a #### shame however that when a tractor is returned to service it is not inspected better to make sure it has all the legals in it.
