@Stump. "A company in LA"....
That was a PSIP violation.
Did they stop a TRUCK from out of state with interstate authority? Or was it a CALIFORNIA based company that did not comply with CARB (PSIP) while doing INTRASTATE????
JEEEZUS!
Someone give me an example of an INTERSTATE truck being stoped while on an interstate load. Not a California based company (they must comply with CARB PSIP filing requirements). You all keep making my argument for me.
CARB, CHP, or DMV Can not cite you if you are not a CA company!
Have YOU been cited for a CARB violation?

Cross Creek in Medford OR had major fines from CARB, this is why they sold and now are Blackwell. The shipper i was at today had a CARB agent there writing tickets to 'EVERYBODY' did not matter where you based out of.
Have you ever looked on the CARB website? it clearly states if you operate on California road ways, no matter where your based, you must comply.
I gave the CARB agent this website info and told him to post on here, because people don't understand half of what the CARB website says. -
I was stopped in a bobtail on Etiwanda a few years ago and they wanted to look at the metal placard on the engine. Then had me start it up and see if it smoked. I was free to go. And I was based with a Carrier out east at the time.
Under my own authority, I do not run California, though. Furthest west I've been is Nogales, AZ. -
Airborne Thanks this.

The CARB agent was impressed that I knew the laws. He thought I needed skirts on my 06 refer. I told him I fell under the provision for 03-09 refer units. He thought that because I have 2012 engine, I could not use the provision, then he looked it up and I was right. After that, he said I should apply for a job with CARB. That was a good laugh.
Cetane+ and Working Class Patriot Thank this. -
I refuse to go to California or register my truck. There is plenty of good paying freight outside of that state of tree huggers and and communist. My advice to owner/operators is to avoid California and run elsewhere.

Half of the posts on this thread are "i wont go to kommyfornia"...
I DONT CARE IF YOU GO TO CALIFORNIA!!!!
I want to know if ANYONE has yet been cited/towed/shut down by all these mysterious blue trucks running around.
NOBODY?
Thought so. -
thinking with that type of attitude the mods should end this thread.
Airborne Thanks this. -
I saw the smog guy testing trucks at a mobile dot set up on Bandini in Vernon California one morning.
