Can anyone explain to me why anyone does a lease/purchase? Every one I have read about is all fleece and no purchase. 99% of the drivers could make as much or more as company drivers without the risk and headaches.
Have you been screwed by John Christner Trucking yet? You will if you sign a lease!

So, I can walk away at any time if need be. I'm not locked into any loan and I'm paying only 11% interest rate. There is no balloon payment either. So, exactly where is the problem?
TAladr Thanks this. -
If you dreamers would stop signing lease papers..you might actually make some money.

Who would want to own a money pit semi truck?
A boat works just as well..and they allow drinking on a boat. -
The following is a generalized statement:
I get it. A lot of people fail at L/P. Partial fault to both parties. People need to do a lot of research before even thinking about signing that contract. They really need evaluate their own situation. If already have a ton of debt, paying for multiple baby mommas and what not; it's going to way harder, if not impossible to be successful. The ones that are successful have taken the time to evaluate everything. And having a spouse that works helps also. Same can be said about going through a dealership. Don't L/P or take your own truck to a company with company drivers. Company trucks get the loads first because they have to pay for them. It's a huge decision and they go about all willy nilly. Use that grey matter between your ears. If you need a mentor and the company has a list of successful drivers willing to mentor; ask for one and actually listen to them. Ask questions but don't be confrontational.
At the same all the companies need to stop down playing the risk and stop pushing new drivers to lease. Stop lowering the standards to do such a program. Stop setting up leases designed to never pay off the truck. Offer classes to help the drivers that want it.
A lot of work needs to be done on both sides.drvrtech77, Lonesome, mjd4277 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sounds like someone has sour apples because they were incompetent on running their own busienss...it takes initiative without hand holding to run one...sounds like someone was an utter failure...
MachoCyclone and Lonesome Thank this. -
Ummmmmm. .....No
As I sense from your macro style answer and no punch line that you are most likely a mindless Wit who most likely polishes Mallory's boots with his tongue. But..... To each his own.
Sweetheart.... I got a whiff of the rotten patch I was sitting in Sapulpa..... Walked away with 4400 in escrow and bought my own and went to Landstar
Maybe.... Someday, When you're done paying 385 000 for that 99 000 truck
I could teach you a thing or two
Till then.... Happy Trails -
Based on the hard-on you have for Mallory, your lease was terminated due to safety I'm guessing.
MachoCyclone, Lonesome and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
Seriously, dude, I hope you make it at landstar. Keep us dimwhits posted on how well you do over there.
TAMachoCyclone, Lonesome and drvrtech77 Thank this.
