Be careful with that word everybody. I never ever ripped mine off. I did once forget to put them on. However I never ripped then off. Like I said before my idiocy was other places.

The best advice regarding this situation was an old hand on this forum that said, "We are in a hurry, so SLOW DOWN!!!"

That's just about the best advice I have ever heeded. Especially when doing drop and hooks you HAVE to take time and go through a standard set of procedures to make SURE you do everything correctly. That's NOT the time to be rushing.

There's another thing I would like to add, based on my education in psychology: the more people there are available to help, the LESS likely help will be rendered. The OP had a situation where many helpers we're "on the task", BUT nobody thought to disconnect the airlines. That's typical. When the OP got behind the steering wheel HE assumed responsibility. In that situation HE becomes responsible. ALWAYS double check before disengaging the parking brake.

    All THAT being said...

...yes, I'm guilty of doing the exact same thing. Once. I am committed to never doing it again. That incident cost me close to $2000 in repairs.

Bdog, oil mixed with diesel, pour it from above (you need to get the topcover off,if you can)
    Let soak for 2 days.
If they don't go smooth then......replace them.

Replacing the assembly might be easier than servicing them. From what I have seen, most landing gear assemblies are pretty mechanically simple to remove and replace as a unit.

You might have to remove the landing gear unit completely to get the top off.

If you go to a parts yard and find a same-model wrecked trailer with landing gear that moves easily, buying a spare/replacement assembly might be a good idea.

I don't know all the calculations in this specific case, but in at least some scenarios it might be a viable plan. In other scenarios, it's surely a useless idea.

It's interesting this subject was brought up. This morning about 11AM I watched a guy dropping at a retail store close to me rip both his air lines off. I don't think there was any damage. What made me laugh though was how the driver got out looked around first then went back and put the gladhands in the holders.
