Mine came out of Nova Scotia, but your point is valid regardless. Sometimes those pickups don’t happen the same day for that reason.
Hazmat and planning ahead.

I haul hazmat coiled wire on a flatbeds a lot, UN 1401. On my BOL the HM is checked and has the UN listed, but it doesn't need placarded. I asked for placards the first time I hauled it and they insisted I didn't need them. I took the load and was worried the whole time, even though I ran all night and delivered in the morning. The next time I raised hell and they printed me paperwork stating why the load was exempt from placards. After further research I found that if I didn't have that exempt paperwork, I would be in violation. RQ's are very confusing at times

So glad I'm retired, no placards needed as I warn no one, just let er rip.

That is funny!
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, all year round.
