I don't know if the practice test on here is right or needs to be updated but I ran into this situation. Bare in mind I'm in the state of Florida, I think for the most part all CDL tests are universal but this is what happened. I got this question:

A driver that hauls hazardous materials must attend training:

    3 years

    2 years

    1 year

    none of the above.

The site says the answer is 2 years. My CDL book for Florida states 3 years here: The regulations require that hazardous materials employees be trained and tested at least once every three years.

so where can i get a more accurate CDL test if this one may be either outdated or not state specific?

I'm getting passing scores on this test, I hope the questions and answers are accurate otherwise I'll be failing tomorrow! I'm taking my hazmat and tanker tomororw. I'm not messing with doubles or triples...too much hassle!

I took the haz and tank test on here over and over. Went to the DMV and past this Oct. Every question was on my test. Didn't study the handbook at all either just did practice test only.

States must follow FMCSA regs but they can be stiffer if they choose.

Follow your state CDL manual and focus on the practice questions at the end of each chapter. You will see most of them again and usually is enough to pass.

Practice sites are only as good as the individual making them. The test consists of multiple choice and if you get hung on one you can usually eliminate two stupid answers leaving you to figure out between two possible answers. When in doubt pick the one that sounds the most right to what you studied.

I thought I'd chime in, even though I had a change of heart.

Everyday I'd spend hours taking these tests. All of them, including the doubles/triples when I went for my Class B permit. Turns out, I passed all endorsements for Class B, except metal coil. Tanker, HazMat, Tow truck, Air brake. I even made a thread letting the staff know if the answer was wrong, just so noone learns the wrong info. So you may want to do that.

    Good luck!

Things are different here in Florida more so than any other state as far as relates to many regulations. For example, drivers must stop every three hours here whether hauling Hazmat or not. The General Knowledge portion as well as other parts of the CDL test are also different than what is found in the testing questions. Not saying many of the practice test questions aren't on the real test but there are additional questions NOT listed in the practice tests that are on the state-sponsored CDL written test. What I'm trying to tell you is do NOT rely solely on the practice tests on the websites for your Florida CDL written tests. Get the Florida CDL handbook and use it to study from and learn the differences not just so you can pass the test but so you can be a compliant, legal and safe driver.
