OH is the same way. You can take the test but the endorsement can't be added until the government clears you as a good lil trucker.
-
Well looks like I'm in the wrong state

When i did mine i was reading and doing the test online somewhere(Practice test) it failed me big time lol. Next time grabbed the book and nailed it

^ the online tests are kinda helpful though some of the information is outdated or just plain wrong. You're much better off getting the manual and reading through it a few times for sure.
EZ Money Thanks this. -
Did you do the tanker endorsement too?
I had to renew mine last year, had to pay the $135. And the TWIC renewal of $65. -
As soon as my background check gets back I will have tanker and hazmat.
Just got to go to the DMV and get the new license. -

Renewed my license this week. I had gotten all my endorsements when I got my CDL two years ago. DMV in Illinois let me get a 90 day extension on my hazmat so I could take the test that day on the condition that I would do my fingerprinting within 30 days. Did the fingerprinting later that day. Don't have to worry about dealing with the wonderful people at the DMV for another few years.
I used the practice tests on this website. The DMV asks you some questions that aren't on this website so I'd recommend also studying the book. For the most part, the questions are common sense.EZ Money Thanks this.
