It's not a dumb question. As a christian married man I set boundaries in my marriage. Being a truck driver and away from your wife is a difficult enough life in and of itself so these are safe guards for us. It prevents unnecessary worries or situations that could make your spouse uncomfortable. Does that make sense?

Makes sense to me. I'm a Christian as well and know where you are coming from. I applaud you sir.
Jim837 Thanks this. -
I'm Buddhist and know nothing of what you're speaking.
Kidding. Just seems a little extreme. Kind of like your wife asking to only work with females in the office because she fears you'll get jealous. -
I understand how it can look extreme. It's very hard on a wife being married to a trucker and this is a way of proactively alleviating any doubts or worries she would have, and it protects me from temptation as well. Our marriage is stronger because of the safe guards we place in our lives.

I am a Christian myself, and I don't need safeguards to stay faithful to my wife. I am strong enough in my faith and vow I made to my wife, that I don't have to avoid having a female coordinator, which I happen to have. my wife isn't threatened by her at all.
I think the problem may lie within yourself that you don't have confidence in your own values.
but I also think it is an affront to the professionalism and integrity of mercer to even ask that question.
it seems to me you are the one who gives in to weakness.
and to answer the question at the end. NO, IT MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER.
just when ya think ya heard it all
p.s. for the sake of discussion, suppose ya did get a male coordinator and say he was gay, would that be to big of a temptation???
sorry to go off on a rant, but your post was ridiculous. and an insult to every female working at mercer.DirtyJoe13, Jersey32, Battle Born and 3 others Thank this. -
are you leased on here yet?kona911 Thanks this. -
you got to be kidding???Steeleandsonfarms, Goldenfan, Lone Ranger 13 and 1 other person Thank this. -
(Quote from skateboardman) jim837, its not like you are going to be dating your coordinator or anything. its a professional relationship, they call to offer you loads not offer to ride you like a wild pony.
I follow this section as a wannabe/maybe and now I guess for some comedy as well. That was hilarious. Must have a heck of a time in a restaurant giving an order to a waitress. I've had a lot of them ask me if I wanted a refill, maybe they were coming on to me.Lone Ranger 13, kona911, spyder7723 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Do I sound as if I was kidding??? You claim the name of Christ, Skateboardman, but your post rings of arrogance and judgment, both of which Christ preached against. Jim is doing what he needs to do to protect his marriage. How dare you criticize him for that???
-
Skateboardman, I'm not trying to insult Mercer and I'm sure they are very professional. No I'm not leased on yet, I still have application at home and have been following yours and others posts on here. With all due respect you do not know me or my circumstances. Haven't I read on the other thread that you guys go to lunch with your coordinators? I'm sorry it offends you but as a christian married man away from my wife I can't see it as appropriate to have lunch with another woman. If you find it ok then that's fine for you.
crappiejunkie Thanks this.
