That sounds like a horrible way to live life. It's just lunch with your coworkers, not a date! Usually, lunch with your coordinator is with other drivers and coordinators in one car. During orientation they ask if you would prefer a male or female coordinator.

Holy wow. What did I just read? Thinking I got the week of the 18th booked. Coordinator is gonna be gone and don't want to deal with the rookie. 2100 miles at 1.90 with a 50% deadhead.

no more arrogant or judgemental than someone thinking lunch with a coordinator will cause trouble in a marriage. I dare to do so because it implies the coordinator might do something to cuse harm to her marriage.

arrogance and being judgemental are two way streets, my wife has been married to a trucker for many years , when she is asked how she handles it , she simply replies , I trust him. he has never done anything for me to think otherwise. and by the way , I don't just claim the name of Christ, I accept him as my lord and savior.

also heres a tidbit that may surprise many, if ya needed to get married, I could legally perform the ceremony.

I bet thats a real eye opener!!!! I go from a different angle, a bit rough with the message, kind of like sandpaper, but sandpaper can smooth things right out.

that's a real preaching to the choir moment aint it.

jim, you don't HAVE to have lunch with anyone if ya don't choose to, the one time you are required to is, when you meet the coordinator for the first time, in the office at their computer, to discuss how you want to run, where you want to run, how much per mile etc etc etc. after that you can simply be a voice on the telephone if you wish.

the lunch for you can be ordered in and you pick it up and eat by yourself if you wish, or go in one of the large vans with 15 other people, its never a one on one situation.

you frankly are worried about nothing. mercer is like a family to me, my female coordinator isn't as old as my oldest daughter, I think the world of her, she helps makes things go smooth for my family , as she helps provide for them by assisting me in getting loads, its almost like she is part of my family, in fact my wife and I joke on who finds more loads for me, her or my coordinator.

my real problem with this is I don't think having lunch with a business associate has anything to do with Christian values, it a discussion over lunch about how things are going, if theres any problems.

the real problem I think lies elsewhere, in some insecurity , or previous issue that caused a trust problem.

and as you say I don't know you or your circumstances, but I have do know enough that the real problem doesn't lie with a lunch . the atmosphere when a group goes to lunch is simply fellowship and building a working relationship with a business associate.

if you choose to remain a voice on the phone, you can do that here. if you are nervous about your wife getting upset if you have lunch with a woman, then you don't have to here, if it simply is just an insecurity or you just are uncomfortable , then you don't have to eat lunch with anyone. but don't cloak it under the guise of Christian values.

to do so is an offense to my Christian values, to the mercer family I have, and to every one working in the office.

and I do hope you still lease on here, so you can truly see how unfounded your fears are. there is a very valid reason why ones like me love this place

wonder what would be worse??? lunch with me or a coordinator. you have to remember that I am the guy who tells folks ,,griping about their loads and where they endup,, to go in bathroom look in the mirror and tell it to the knucklehead looking back at em.

it is simply the truth, I am on blood sugar pills, I cant sugarcoat anything

Skateboardman, I know several people who can perform marriage ceremonies, heck I almost signed up online somewhere a while back to perform my sisters wedding. So no im not surprised. I'm glad to hear you preach that type of gospel, someone has to, but why be critical of a man that was asking a simple question.

I'm with you in my marriage. My wife trusts me implicitly. I trust her implicitly. If I had to do this lunch thing it'd be no big deal to us. I have the luxury of having wife ride with me all the time so nothing for us to worry about. Our marriage is centered around Christ. We have our individual ministries as well as a joint one too. I agree that lunch is no big deal but I don't blame Jim for wanting to protect his marriage. More men need to follow his example.
