I received my hotel room confirmation this morning. Everything has been very well organized and professional. Driving up to Bedford Park Illinois on Sunday for Monday orientation.

I think you'll find that the majority of Schneider people are very kind. Now, to hauling cans around Chicago? They've never printed enough money for me to do that.
    Good luck and happy trails.

I don't even like driving around Chicago. I once had to make a delivery of some cable right under the Sears Tower. Had to do it twice....

Bedford? Oh wow they did actually build a new training center? I was hearing about it before I left, totally forgot they had a plan. I think they main terminal is still off of Cicero and i55, you can grab a stone and throw it towards jb hunt intermodal yard.

Just received my final follow up call before orientation. I was very happy to hear that they do not make the experienced drivers share a room...!

Bedford Park.....nice place to visit. Company I worked for had their yard at the IKO shingle plant, at 65'th and Central.

The Kostner yard is gone. I'm not exactly sure what/where replaced it.

Completed my first day. Had drug and hair follicle test. Lots of videos to watch. Had to pass their hazmat certification test. You get three attempts...passed on first try.
The instructors and all of the other drivers were great. I had to spend some time on the simulator. Had multiple drive tire skids and steer tire blow outs. After not driving since May, it was interesting to say the least.
Had some great pizza for lunch. Was given three nice Company shirts. Will receive three more Friday.
They really stress safety and that the driver has the final say if it is unsafe to drive.
Tomorrow will be out in the yard for some hands on. Should be fun!
