More than enough warm water to fuel the storm!
Ideally temperature of the water in the high 80s(88 degrees F to be more specific) is needed for tropical cyclone strength and development.
Milton right now is on a hurricane equivalent of steroids-with a major case of roid rage!

We, in Polk County Florida, feel like hurricanes have been tracking us since 2004. And we're somewhat inland, as much as you can be inland on a peninsula.

Prior to 2004, we went 40+ years straight without getting a direct hit with one that maintained hurricane strength. Then, We got 3 in a period of just 6 weeks in 2004. And several more since.

I can't even remember them all now.
