I’ve got a gaming laptop and a 32” smart TV with an unlimited hotspot. I spend most of my slack time sleeping tho.

Right now I'm only running my 2018 Acer Nitro 5, looking to upgrade in the next month or so to either a new model Nitro or likely the Predator. Used to run with my ps4, but cutting down on toys.

I did carry a laptop when I was OTR. I would hotspot my phone (unlimited data) to surf the net a bit and I would play Battle Pirates on occasion. But I didn't play that game for more than a few months or so. Fun game, but you had to be a "coiner" to get anywhere and, well, I had better ways of spending my money.

Big Maud from the Love's fuel desk for one. Big Maud didn't get big eating off the value menu if you know what I mean. I used to have a horse that cost less money to feed! And when I say Big Maud, I mean BIG!

    - Big Maud puts on a pair of spike heels, she strikes oil!
    - I tuned in to watch her on Richard Simmons' Sweating to the Oldies. The first time she jumped, my television fell off the stand!
    - She was standing at the bus stop in the Bronx one day and two cops run up and said "Break it up!".

I'm talking a FAT girl! Fat and UGLY! Woooo weeeeee, is she ugly.

    - I took her home to meet my parents, my Mother put down newspaper!
    - We went to the beach one day and some fella comes up and asks me "Hey fella, what'd ya use for bait?"!
    - The first time I gave her a kiss, I got fur on my tongue!

Big Maud costs too much to feed, but with that much blood available it was too good to pass up so he had to give up gaming.

I'm glad I got into this business I know I'm new and adversaries are ahead of me but with a friendly crowd like this, things can get easier. You all have a good night and stay safe!

    Big Maud, LMAO

I have a love/hate relationship with gaming because of the money/time I've spent on it. I use an alienware laptop, threw out the platters. Got a small folding table that
fits/sits in front of the bunk. I used to carry a big monitor with me, but it's a PITA, I don't watch broadcast TV (hate commercials), but will stream stuff on my tablet. I had high hopes for stadia, but lost interest, now amazon is cooking something up.

The gaming itself doesn't take that much data. Downloading the games does. I use my loyalty points to pay for Flying J WiFi, it's hit or miss, so is cellphone hotspot. so I alternate between the two.

I use a gl.inet travel router which will repeat the wifi to multiple devices and will handle the captive portals at the truck stops and hotels. I think I get a better signal with it sitting on the dash than my laptop does in the bunk.

There's also an app called easytether which will let your laptop use your cell phone data plan without using your hotspot data, in the case you have unlimited data, but limited hotspot.

What I've enjoyed most in recent years is VR gaming. I'm currently playing pistol whip, it's a blast.

There's a few gaming threads over here:
