I have two years of driving experience and one year of business experience. It’s time to renew my insurance and I’m looking for a cheaper option please help. Last year I just paid the whole year for $35,000 definitely won’t be doing that this year!

Oh, I think you will, who do you think runs this country? I know some bigger companies are self insured, meaning it's better to take a gamble than pay outraegeous premiums. You can't win, pal, with lawsuits STARTING at a million bucks, makes that $35g's seem cheap. You are simply being a casualty of a system destined to implode, and soon. Do yourself and family a favor, sell cannibus products, or something, trucking is a losing game today. I'd hate to see you have a lifetime of hardship because of something you can't control. I certainly wouldn't give 1/3 of my salary to those crooks( and another 1/3 to the feds, the other crooks). I try and stay off the O/O forum, but really, with so many great company jobs posted here, many that actually PAY the insurance, why on Gods earth would you pay those premiums, esentially for nothing, if you are a good driver, that is.

Call someone at an insurance agency,
not corporate number. -
Call several agents and price shop.
Also call progressive directly and get their price without a middleman. -

A good, experienced, insurance broker who specializes in trucking is worth every penny.
Even when the current company is not cancelling or hiking the price, at each renewal the broker has a few other options 'just in case'...
Independent brokers can also offer options on coverage levels, etc. that may affect premium costs.
They are adept at reaching the underwriters to get a marginal MVR history approved, etc.
Been a while since I was involved the cost side but I remember a big jump in pricing where the haz mat tank carrier with 80 trailers and 45 tractors [mostly owner operators] was paying around $45,000.00 per truck...That time a lot of companies gave up...hold on the ride may be worse now.
