This is to let them know that there are good companies out there.

I work for a small 25 truck fleet. I prefer not to name the company because:

1. I wish to remain as anonymous as possible.

2. There’s no benefit to anyone because we never have any openings. I was hired about 6 months ago and the last person to be hired before me was hired over 7 years ago. Lol

Anyway, here are the specifics of where I work.

- I’m home every day unless *I*choose to do an overnight run

- I work Monday thru Friday

- Non forced dispatch, although it’s EXTREMELY rare anyone here requests not to do something.

- Average about 8.5-9 hours a day

- Off all major holidays WITH pay

- Need off for whatever? No problem

- I get paid for EVERYTHING I do

- If not loaded immediately, I go on the hourly clock

- Truck getting serviced? I go on the hourly clock (unless I’m off that day)

- Breakdown? I go on the hourly clock, not some dumb $100 daily rate

- Affordable, decent insurance. In full disclosure, it’s not great insurance, but it’s a very small company.

- Owner supplies everything we need to include: shirts, gloves, hard hat,reflective vest, waterproof all seasonjacket, anything at all, he provides

Heck, he bought an antenna (a whip or whatever they call them for my CBwhen I told him I had a CB, but not anantenna.

The drivers NEVER leave. I got lucky and was literally at the right placeright time when I got hired.

All the stuff I listed is great, but my favorite part of working here is when I call the office, one of two voices answers: the owner, or our one dispatcher.

When I empty, I call the office and if the owner answers, he says “Hey buddy, how are you doing? I’ll say fine and he’ll say “Good, that’s great. Let’s get one and take it to ABC. I’ll text you the load”, and off I go.

Oh, the drivers here make $60k-$70k, which is really good for Arkansas. I was told “$45-$60 when I interviewed, but have learned since that everyone does at least $60k.

I drive a 2015 Pete 389 with a 10 speed and my trailer is assigned, same as tractor. And, while I’m pretty much a speed limit kind of guy, I can grab a gear and toast any jack wagon that doesn’t think he should get passed.

I worked with my friend as a team driver, the company was much like you mentioned, no bs, all waiting time paid, etc.

I was going to ask do you work for the army then i thought again and they wouldn't give you holidays off though would they?

No, not the Army. I work for a small 25 truck fleet.

That said, I liked the uniforms the army wore back in the 1800s. The boots were smoking!
