I'm a little familiar with burns myself, having worked in a steel mill as maintenance. Never really badly burned, but I got myself in the crook of the elbow once pretty good. I can tell people from experience that I do, indeed, smell like bacon when cooked.
Here's what a moderately bad week looks like...

That really worried me for a second. Broken glasses, poor vision, and eye pain. But I flipped to my back and did a quick check to be sure both eyes were working, then slowly stood up, and zombied into the truck stop and took up a corner of the men's room sink for about five minutes cleaning myself up and making sure there was nothing really wrong with me other than being banged up a bit - at least that I could tell. Some EMTs were called, they looked me over, we talked symptoms, and I decided not to take them up on the offer of a ride to a local clinic.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
My surgeon said I woke up from the pain despite a IV anesthesia when they introduced argon gas into the eyeball to paste the retina in place. I remember that episode it hurt. A couple of needles of this and that made that ow go away right quick. -
Though im normally not superstitious at all, I'm seriously thinking that starting this thread was a bad idea. I might just hide in my truck, finish a 34, consider this week over, and never start another bad week thread again.

STAY THE F AWAY FROM ME. You are bad news no matter how I look at it. I hope things get better soon for you.

Pain isn't a problem I normally have. When I lost my index finger and mangled my middle finger on my right hand, I needed pain medicine for 24 hours after each of three surgeries.
Same thing for every surgery I've ever had. As long as I am careful not to aggravate the injured parts, they don't hurt enough to bother me after about 24 hours.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Okay. Update on the concrete faceplant.
Left wrist is still sore, but it's not any worse than when I went to bed.
The eyebrow injury didn't bleed at all last night, nor is it painful, but oh, boy, do I have a beautiful bruise.
EDIT: Unfortunately the eye is swollen shut, so I have no depth perception and can't drive. I can barely open it, and can't keep it open for more than a few seconds.
