anj, any progress on moving from Arnold? You said you'd prefer solo refer. Have you checked out Crete/Shafer and Davis Express? You'd certainly be in both their hiring zones. How about Pullen Brothers? They got a yard in Lakeland. Anyways, what's the issues with Arnold? You seemed to like it when it was Link.

Well... I have choice words for Arnold that I would gladly fill you in over coffee one day lol. However, given our situation, its what works for us now. At least for about 5 more months anyway.

Link... reputation sucked, equipment sucked for a long time but I made money and I was Happy there. Link operated in a weird way. The southeast and southwest divisions were both the same company but operated almost differently. The SE division in Lakeland was a a good group of people. All of the drivers knew each other, we were personal with our dispatchers and our routes were predictable so we would see the same drivers every day or at least every other day. Here... well... they'll book freight and just throw a dart at the east coast and say go here and no initiative to book return freight. Link made a lot of progress in my 2 years there and it was all dismantled by our investors In the name of $$$. We had nearly every truck replaced with brand new, apu/inverter equipped trucks and were getting brand new trailers by the dozens every week.. here at Arnold.. Lol. I've never Seen so many ragged trailers.

    But yeah.. stuck for now.

That is my hope. As many things as have already been addressed, I am hoping there is a ceiling that we are nearing. Still going to at some point have to get the truck into Freightliner to get the air and oil leaks resolved associated with the air compressor. Hopefully the next home time. I Am using variations of the word hope a lot. The way I was dealt with at the end of the 1st week in Akron gave me the foundation I needed to have hope in these folks. If 7k months were common, these folks would have no drivers.

I've seen US-Arnold-Total-Abileen-Express pulling Link America trailers here and there...did USless Xpress buy them too?

I was with Arnold before they were Arnold, they were Silver Eagle, a division of Arnold Logistics. Then when Roadway was trying to buy New Penn Mr. Arnold Jr changed all his company holdings into one corporation called Arnold Transportation. It didn't help...Roadway bought the whole thing, sold him the logistics back...stripped New Penn out of the corporation then sold the rest. 2 owners later it is part of the USXpress family...and their equipment sucked back then too.

The guy that owned Silver Eagle(Steve Silverman) is the head cheese over at Raven...even though it shows a guy named Randy owns it...Steve and his wife Judy are the boss'. They just list Randy as the owner because he is a minority...and they get more contracts since big companies like P&G and Miller dedicate a certain percentage of business to minority business owners. In all the years I was with them, I never once saw Randy in the office. They just found a legal loophole and are taking unfair advantage of it.

Weird thing was I saw no hair or blood on what was left of the area that struck the cow. Everything was covered in Sh#$. I couldn't help but to tell the deputies I knocked the Sh#$ out of it. I really did.

Just remember the cow hit you, not the other way around. It can mean a ticket versus no ticket some places anyway.
