All that nasty moisture that was supposed to slam us last night never showed up. Yay! Just the wind and cold temps. I made it to the Hucks in Mt Vernon, Illinois.

Camped at the rest area at Sycamore, Georgia. Almost home. Deliver 05:00 Friday in Lakeland and then begin home time. I Am Ready! Go Gators!
stungjoe Thanks this. -
At Public in Lakeland getting offloaded. Went thru my settlements at home last night and my 1st 50 days worked I only averaged 401 paid miles per day. 99% due to being held back by scheduling. Not acceptable for how I am willing and desire to run. Will address it in more detail with the company at the conclusion of this load.

I whole heartily agree with you on this. I d rather be run to death and average 600 miles a day. If I have to be away from my family the wheels need to be turning. With my current company I average in my first 7 weeks is 3300 miles which is the way I like it. If I feel I need to recharge I ask for hometime. But hey just my 2 cents.
double yellow, xlsdraw and paul_4lp Thank this. -
I actually desire to run hard as well. The slow motion loads that give you 3 days to run 1000 miles bore me and I don't sleep as good. I prefer to run my logbook out and do a restart at the 168th hour. When I run hard, my body falls into a deeper sleep faster and I feel better when I get up in the morning with less aches and pains and I'm less grumpy. Plus it takes the worry out of paying the bills because there are more 0's after the $ in my bank account.

I appreciate the responses which verify that every driver has their own individual needs/preferences. This company will suit many to a T. Did have the conversation this morning in person with the appropriate person in Florida. He will check with the mother ship and see i if anything can be done.

Exactly how I view things. -
On the positive side, the way I have been run so far, would allow a driver to setup running when they prefer to run. If you want to run 05:00 or 06:00 to 16:00 or so, should be very possible most loads. Everyone has been reasonably friendly and helpful so far. There has been no external pressure. Equipment is ok. Shop jumps on your truck quickly. Shoot, I got back to the yard this morning after delivering. I had called the shop earlier in the week letting them know I was coming home so they could get the truck into a dealer for repairs they don't do at Heyl. I got to the yard and walked inside and had the meeting with the Lakeland guy. I come back out and my truck is Gone. They must have saw me come in the gate and snatched it. I had to go into the Detroit dealer in Brandon to get my stuff I needed out of the truck. Actually there are a lot of positives at Heyl. I just haven't got the one thing I Must have. I may be one of the few drivers that recommends every company I have worked for. I have not worked for a truly bad company.
