Dropped load at yard. They are gonna take the truck and put a white hood on it tomorrow. Hopefully it will be ready for Thursday morning when my reset is up. If not, at least I am home. I kinda liked the Dairy Cow look.

Sure thing, I've been reading your pots and i like to run as hard as you do, so it was kinda disappointing to see how much extra time we get on the loads :-/ got a nice 2010 cascadia with an apu. Enjoy your home-time!

As reported, I had a sit down with a Florida representative of Heyl concerning disappointing productivity prior to this trip. I was at 401 paid miles per day thru my 1st 50 days worked. Heyl responded with 6489 paid miles in 13 days out which equates to a 499.15 paid miles per day trip. The best single trip average I have had at any company to date. That brings my overall average up to 421.50 thru 63 days worked. So there is renewed hope that Heyl can be what I hoped and need them to be. Efficient.

I want your opinion on this, especially u Heyl drivers..I'm a local driver I do 2 rounds a day.Drive roughly 6.50 hrs dailey and the rest is sitting,I use up my entire 14 most the time.My starting time hrs im not at all happy with. One day come in at 7:15 the next 9:45.My dispatcher knows I hate those hrs along with the pay and im really really hoping it gets better because I do like my dispatcher. So anyway im making 38 and a half cpm which ill round off to 38 cpm.So im rougley making $120.00 a day.I don't get detention because the customer gets me in the dock before 2 hrs and there I sit for a couple hrs, sometimes longer.I talked to my dispatcher about the pay yesterday,he said he did lobby for the locals to get paid houly but the owner said no.Anyway I get to Yankton Menards yesterday and of course sat.Was there over 3 hrs.Which is why I use up my 14 almost every day.So anyway I got to talking with another Heyl local driver.I asked him how he likes the pay,he said I don't mind it,I get paid whether I run or sit.He is getting paid hourly because he was grandfathered in.He drove for Cloverleaf and been with Heyl 3 yrs.Hes making the same pay he was at Cloverleaf.I talked to my dispatcher about that this morning. He said it is what it is and also said 4 other drivers are getting paid hourly. Then I used another dispatcher up there as an example .I said if you just started with Heyl and that dispatcher is making much more because he was grandfathered in from a different company, would'nt you be angry, knowing you're doing the same work and getting paid much less. His answer to that was if you don't like it then find somewhere else to work.I walk out and go get my trk.Meanwhile dispatcher calls back says Patty im sorry I didn't handle that very well can we talk.So I get back there conversation went as I ecspected nothing.Anyway he said those drivers been here 10 yrs they deserve more pay.I said first off the driver last night has been with Heyl for 3 yrs and secondly I agree they do deserve better pay but not hourly unless Mr.Heyl wants to pay all the local drivers an hourly wage. This is so not fair.Whats your take on it?

Im really hoping it gets better because right now I hate going to work. But tomorrow im starting when I want because the load is here.I asked my dispatcher quite a few times to please try and get me my load info before I go home rather then having to wait till he comes to work.He says some of the loads drivers bring in overnite,ok fine give me another load.Far as I can tell im the last one out of locals to be done for the day and I absolutely hate it and dispatcher knows this.Yes the pay sucks but I can work with that if I can start earlier.Because just maybe less sitting and maybe 3 rounds.I have to see how u run first blah blah blah. The first day should have been a sign that im a good runner and don't like to pizz around.I believe in getting the job done.

I tell u what folks, even though im an unhappy camper,my dispatcher and I talk professional and maybe that's why he respects me.I heard from 3 other drivers hes a jerk(used more of a colorful word then what those 3 drivers said)I haven't had any problems with him.I know its not his fault concerning the pay but hes the person I talk to with issues.

I have never done local Patty. I have talked to a few Florida Heyl local/Tropicana drivers and have seen posts from other Florida Heyl local/Tropicana drivers in the past. They were paid a set daily wage. When I saw you were coming on board I assumed that the local drivers up there would be daily wage as well. When I say daily wage I don't mean hourly I mean like $140.00 per day. I have seen some post in the past higher than that. If you are live loading and live unloading in the reefer biz short haul, being paid by the mile does seem like it would be tough. I can certainly understand your disappointment in that. Strange that Heyl is using a different system in the two areas. Hoping that they will work with you on this.
