Those drivers from cloverleaf get paid what they get paid. That is the way the buyout was done, and no you don't have the right to expect the same pay as them. You just started, you agreed to the pay you are getting, before you started. Life is NOT fair, never was, never will be. equal pay for equal work is a myth. You get paid what you agreed to, don't like the pay, try to negotiate a better pay, or go else where.
Local work, local pay, at the companies discretion. They need you to start late in the day, then you start late in the day... that is being an employee.
You don't like the way Mr Heyl run's HIS company, then go and start your own, and pay everyone the same exact wage, and see how long your doors stay open.

Yes I did agree to the pay but I did not agree to get paid what I am and some get paid hourly. The same policy should apply to ALL DRIVERS on certain fleets not a selected few.Im not disputing they should get paid more but pay them by the mile like every other company does or pay me by the hour only less then what they're making, ill settle for that.I did not know some drivers are getting paid hourly during orientation.I did know other stuff pertaining to my job but a lot was left out during orientation. This is trucking the pay sucks all around. If Mr Heyl said no to my dispatcher for hourly pay then those 5 drivers should be dropping down to mileage pay.

Some companies like Hill Bros pays their locals which they call utility driver I think $225.00 a day.Not a bad check.KB pays all their locals the same.Salary gets I think $950.00 a week and the other locals get paid the same per round.Does'nt matter how long you've been there. My boyfriend has been with kb going on 11 yrs and I made the same as he does.
paul_4lp Thanks this. -
Im not at all ecspecting the same pay and I mentioned that.Of course they deserve more pay but not hourly unless the same policy apples to all the local drivers.Trucking is a one size fits all carreer so I thought.I should get the same type of pay as those selected few are.Ill settle for less per hr,thats not a problem.

That's one thing I wont do is just shut up and do my job.Something bothers me,I will speak up and not sugar coat anything.I think drivers shouldn't discuss there pay with the less fortunate drivers because it just angers those less fortunate drivers.Like miles on the same dispatcher board. You don't wanna tell a driver on the same fleet bragging about the miles when the other driver is sitting because it just sets off a chain reaction.

Why thank you
.At least my dispatcher knows this is a huge concern with me and everytime I have to sit in the staging area or in the dock.I do think he is sincerely understanding to my frustration.I wish that driver wouldn't have told me he gets paid by the hour. All that did was add fuel to the fire. Then a double whammy when my dispatcher said 4 others are getting paid hourly.

I've been in this biz 21 years next month and most company's pay their short haul drivers by the mile. There may have been some city drivers making hourly, but by "city drivers" I mean the ones who don't require a logbook under HOS regs. The companies that pay their local short haul driver hourly are usually the LTL pup drivers like Conway, Roadway, OD etc...but then they might have dozens of stops or more on one trailer.
Not to criticize, but you're the new driver to the fleet...you start out getting the table scraps of what the senior drivers passed on. If you were in their shoes, imagine how you'd feel if you had been there for years and the new person got the best loads and the senior guy got the crap runs...seniority has it's perks, you just have to pay your dues when you're the new gal/guy to the company. It'll be that way no matter where you go48Packard Thanks this.
