Wow I'll tilt my hat to you for taking that truck back on the road. One good thing is you should be easy to recognize in a White Heyl truck. Or heard early in the morning doing regen's :) . Kinda reminding me of my 1st and last cascadia. It would need to do a parked regen every 3 hours or 200 miles. The bad part it took forever to get the regen started. Glad I was only in that truck for about a month. The company sent all those trucks back to the dealer. Hopefully the only down time you will see is when you take it to Freightliner. Until then Happy trails and keep the thread rolling.

With 450k on your truck, it may be due for a new DPF. They were suppose to last longer, but even Crete's Internationals were needing them around 400k, and over here our Internationals get the DPF serviced before then.

Sitting just above Tulsa. Heyl/Akron redeemed my lost faith this morning. The yard driver knocked on my door at 06:00. He said they want the truck in the shop now. He jumped in and pulled it to the pumps. While I got ready (meds and contacts) HE fueled the truck. So now I'm sitting on the bunk and he pulls to a door. The door started opening and at the end of the bay there was a pit crew standing there ready to jump on the truck. As soon as the truck stopped they were on it. So I walked over to the writeup window and wrote a lengthy writeup. I headed to another bldg that has the drivers lounge. Just 2 hrs later Safety calls over asking me to come over. So I do.They acknowledged that things should have been handled differently. I had the choice of pulling a load to Florida and leave in good standing or give em another shot with an additional $250 bonus if I stayed 90 days. They even put on 2 brand new steer tires that I didn't even write up. I don't know what else they could have done to make me feel wanted. So I am gonna do my best to make it work. Things could have easily went a completely different direction this morning. I am glad it went down the way it did.

Canada is optional for American drivers. Heyl has a terminal in Calgary and plenty of Canadian drivers. The Americans normally relay the loads off in the Northern border states. Completely different situation than what I experienced with CT.

Personally, I will be leaving the truck at the yard. I don't have a place for it anyway. The former Heyl driver that counseled me on them the last couple years lives down around West Palm and he worked it out with them to take truck home. Not sure how he swung it.

Glad to see things are looking up.

Heyl said Jacksonville is out of their hiring area so that counts me out.
