The CDL school which I'd like to attend is asking me if I take medication for HBP. Is there a downside if I say "No"?

no, is your bp high?
-
It's right on the edge so my doc has me on meds.
-
too many questions............
first, does your bp go up when you go for physical, if so, its called "white coat syndrom" you need to let them know when you take the exam. they will take it a few times. -
Lol...i wad nervous as he'll and it shot up to 170 when I went for my first test.
-
I don't know what these Knuckleheads are thinking... If you are on a prescription, simply disclose it, go ahead and pass your physical, and you'll have to get one every year instead of every two years.
TripleSix, Dan.S, KillingTime and 2 others Thank this. -
Your better off if you can manage lowering your blood pressure without meds. If your borderline some simple changes in your diet might work. With all of this said im an advocate of total honesty when it comes to this job.

I agree moose, in fact, I was on meds when I first started driving. Once I started driving I wasn't drinking beer everyday, I was cooking in the truck and eating smaller portions, and I lost about 35 pounds. My blood pressure went down, doc took me off the meds, and the next time I needed a physical got a 2-year card.
EphTrucker and Dan.S Thank this. -
Talk to a Dr regarding a healthplan to get off the Meds and managing you hypertension. Beware, BP pills can have side effects when taken and driving long hours.
