I did try searching Google but didn't find much. I'm looking for historical per mile pay. I've seen some people saying they are getting 37 cents per mile. I'm not in the trucking industry but I know that is very low. I want to say there were trucking companies paying that much 30 years ago. Am I wrong?

    In 2013 I started at 25. A year later I was making 38. Now I make 70.

The trucking company I work for pay drivers 48 cents per mile. It’s little on the low side but they pay detention after 1 hour at $20 per hour even if they don’t get paid. They pay 20 per hour when truck in shop for repairs even in their own shop. They will pay for parking at truck stop no questions asked. They have guaranteed minimum pay every week.

How much is your 24 hours worth? That's the real cost. You're not free to leave the load and go. At night you are an unpaid security guard. The guy next to you dumped piss out on the pavement. It's not a lucrative career.

CPM isn't as important as assessorial pays.
I never really gave a crap about CPM.

Here's an example of assessorial pays and other pays.
    Example:
    • FREE CPAP testing and supplies
This company requires 6 mos. experience.

I'm not currently a trucker so I don't understand all the lingo. Is detention when you are just sitting waiting on a load, or waiting to drop a load?

When you are sitting and waiting to get loaded or unloaded. It was never paid when I started driving but today lots of company pay you by the hour because you can’t leave or drive to make money. Some companies don’t pay it and some only pay it if they can collect detention pay from the place loading or unloading the truck.

I was able to find a company that today pays drivers 34cpm . Now I'm trying to see who pays lower than that
