Who the heck is this Corporate you keep referring to?

Could be wrong but I think it's a pretty standard requirement that any overhead lines allow at least 14' clearance. It's not your fault it was too low.

No comment on how you handled it. :)

Utility lines have to be a certain distance off the ground, even in residential neighborhoods. I took out some lady's phone line years ago when delivering to a construction site. She started to make me turn it in to my company's insurance until I informed her that the phone company was responsible for keeping their lines at the required height, and that any lines not at the proper height are their problem...and this was on a road that ended at a Lake Ontario boat launch which had a USCG station with big boats. She said she would call her handyman to just disconnect the line from the box at her house since she used cell only.

Friend of mine took out about 2 blocks of cable in Philadelphia. That cable was dragging behind the trailer. People yelling and running beside him. He yelled, "let me find a safe place to pull over first." He saw the entrance to the interstate, got on, and kept going. Nothing was ever heard about it after that. He did pull off at the next exit to remove the cables though so he wouldn't attract more attention.

I tore some down one time on church property while making a u-turn. The police and electrical company told me not to worry about it because the lines were too low. Even on private property, they still have to meet codes.

BS. You know better than that.

If it happened on a public road, it is NOT his fault. The cable company needs to learn to mount their crap up out of the way.

No. The power lines are at the TOP of the pole. Anyone that hits one of those has a whole other set of issues.

Lol the hog truck going to the hog farm down the road last summer caught a drop off the light pole. He snapped the light pole in half bit it was too low. The week before the power company ran a new drop to the house there
