As I was getting ready to roll out of TA this morning in Cassville, GA the truck 2 over from me, from PTL, was puling out and smacked the truck next to me, from Knight...I guess the Knight Rider(hehe) was inside the shop as he didn't respond to the hit and not many could have slept thru that, it was a hard hit, so since I was close to leaving folded my stuff and followed the truck out...I pulled up next to him at exit but he didn't look over at me, I could tell he was trying to get out of there in a hurry, so I wrote down his company and tractor number and called it in to Knight...Some may say I was snitching, I say I was filling my kharma cup up so if, god for bid, someone does that to me, someone will help me out as I did this driver...It'll teach that prick a lesson for running out on his responsibilities and maybe get him off the road so he doesn't do it to one of us...Harsh, maybe, but seeing someone just roll out like that pissed me off and I was going to let him get away with it...Flame away if necessary...

There are no snitches in a situation like that. Just real truck driver's & wannabe's.

Although you are new, you demostrated the fact that your a real truck driver

I agree with Redd. That just rotten to run out when you make a mistake and not own up to it.

Also no prob Walstib. I cringe at the thought of calling my carrier and telling them I don't know who hit me. It would automatically be my fault unless I can give them a carcass to toss in the volcano.

    Good call.

Good on you. Pay if forward. I'd appreciate what you did very much if I was that other truck. Can't believe the guy didn't stop...what the hell?

Absolutely NOT snitching. You very well could have saved knight riders job and there is NO place in this industry for that kind of selfishness and dishonesty. Good for you for standing up and doing the right thing hopefully santa will get you everything you asked for this year......:biggrin_255:

Are you crazy?? Is there no more honor among thieves??? You would never make it in the Mafia my friend! Now this Knight driver will lose his job I hope you're happy.

Just kidding, good job reporting it. I have seen 2 of those truck stops accidents recently, and it has actually made me hyper-aware of where the trailer is when I'm negotiating through any place like that. During my training I dragged the trailer over a huge rock in a right turn. I was so lucky to not have flipped the trailer on its side and maybe the truck too. I guess after a while I got a sense of how far back there the trailer is kinda like my body. Like if you see a snail on the sidewalk 10 paces ahead, you can walk along looking up at the sky and never step on the snail-- same concept with the trailer except of course keep your eyes on it lol.

Its only snitching if your the person being told on. It could very well cost a man his career if you hadnt called in. As for the PTL driver, it would have been wise to have stayed there.
