I really have to disagree with one Drivers rant here regarding Holland, I've worked for the company for several years, and have had only positive experiences. The Dispatch system is set up in regions, if your in the NW you'll always speak to that Dispatcher to get a load, that load may take you to the SE, then you'll talk with that Dispatcher who covers that area to get you out of there and so forth. These Dispatchers that work their respective regions know the area and Holland's customers, and they all work together out of the Holland office in Fargo, so if issues or problems arise with your load, everyone is in communication to solve the problem.
Regarding the staff, mentioned specifically were Ruth Holland and Denzil Edie and Christy in Dispatch. Ruth's job is driver support, she has never let me down when a issue arrived I needed help with, weather it was me being sick on the road, I was concerned about lack of miles, she has been a great help. Denzil works safety and does just about everything at that company, he's a character I will admit, but never in the light that other Driver put him in, he is one of the most fair men I've met. Regarding Dispatch and loads, your going to do long haul coast to coast, that's what they do, but also your going to take the bad with the good, lower mile, multiple stop. Holland is no different then any other company in that way, these are realities about the job, someone who has been in the industry so long should understand this and make allowances.
The equipment is excellent, from the trucks to the trailers, Holland goes above and beyond in giving the drivers the tools to do their job. Maintenance is done in Fargo, their very specific at keeping the trucks in top shape, problems arise on the road, they've never left me hanging.
I will defend this company to the end, I wish I would of discovered them earlier in my career, they give me great tools to get the job done, and leave me alone to do it.
Anyone who wants more info regarding my experience, or Holland, just let me know....

One thing I especially like is getting out west and north a lot. Most other companies I've worked at, I somehow would always get stuck going in circles in the Midwest, East, and Southeast. While Holland is 48 states, you won't get stuck in the Midwest or East for long before you're headed back West.

I've considered them also. What's the health/insurance cost and plans there? Any truck transponders for the toll roads and scales by pass? Breakdown, detention, layover, inclement weather shutdown pay? What bonuses pay do they have? From what I can see their trucks have APUs, Fridge/Freezers, XM Satellite Radio, Digital Satellite/Flat Screen TVs, and I verters? I stay out for a while, my choice, usually 6 to 8 weeks, occasionally 10 weeks, and I'm a good cook of course, so driver comforts/feature is important. What's the pay scale there like? Presently I run all solo, 48 states and major portions of Canada, and hazmat now and then, you guys, I get some good miles with Canada runs, but you do a lotta coast to coast runs that's fine with me, care to elaborate? Like I said I been considering Holland. I live in northern VT. I believe you guys haul ice cream out of VT to NV? Anyways I'm all ears..

Blue Cross $2500 deductible for individual almost %100 of everything paid after that. Forget monthly cost .

Ez Pass, IPass, Oklahoma Pike pass

Detention is hard to get, have to stay on them. Though some of our accounts pay automatically. But not an issue usually. Yes on breakdown though rare, hardly ever happens. Don't know about weather shutdown. Probably not.

.36-.40 base. With bonuses that most drivers get .41-.45

Yes a lot of coast to coast. The ice cream you speak of, fish out of Seattle, fruit juices out of CA, lots of stuff out of Northeast down to Dallas, then stuff out of there to AZ and CA. No meat plants, no hazmat. But on our accounts you do sometimes get hit with some short ones. Got to take care of them because they keep us rolling. But I think the average haul overall is near 1500 miles.

If you like to stay out a month at a time this is definitely one of the better if not one of the best places. And you can take up to 5 days off then if you're doing good on miles.

I'm currently pulling dry vans for Celadon and have a start date at Holland on May23. Had some issues to take care of or I would have been there over a month ago. I've moved around a bit more than I should have recently, looking for a good fit. My wife rides with me and Celadon has made life quite difficult for us on several occasions. I'm looking forward to getting started there. It should take my thread back to a positive direction (I have a long-ish thread that has gotten a bit dark lately). Gotta admit I've been nervous about being sent home from orientation because of some past bad experiences (that would be the Apocalypse for me and The Hot Chick) but I've realized that I've been letting fear make my decisions for me. Been dealing with Nicci (Nichole?) in the Fargo recruiting office and she seems pretty straight up. She says everything looks good. I've just had a difficult time getting back home to Indianapolis so we can get to orientation.

Do you know if they have automatics available?

I heard they offer automatics and 10 speeds. I for one will never drive an auto, been there done that, but that's me, presently I have a 13 speed. That's what I heard though is that they offer you those two choices. I don't drive for Holland, but I'm doing a lot of inquiring about them, if I do change

I've driven a few of the newer automatics (Detroit 12 speed) and I like them a lot.
