AND, since I got out of the Pete 388 into a Prostar, I could give a ####. Most miserable truck I have ever driven, I have NO pride in it. -
-
International prostar is no good. Very dangerous. No jake brake. No air horn, just a very loud city horn. Rpm governor. Electrical problems. I've had about 6 prostar. They all broke down. Even while new.

How much did Knight deduct from your pay for this load by not completing the delivery to the consignee? Please give the amount both in dollars and as a percentage of your total gross for the load. -
That guy lasted about a week at Knight. Pretty sure he's long gone by now.
day 1-4 Knights a good ccompany
day 5 WTF?
day 6 I'm outta here
day 7 sleep in at home and wash the filth off while looking forward to the future.OverDrive and Fiddle Sticks Thank this. -
Yeah, there is a pattern & history of 'raving' newbie Knight drivers coming on and heralding Knight, and then....after several weeks to months....they disappear from this forum! Some have the cajones to come back and give their story, while others are embarrassed and just drop off the face of the forum.
But the fact is, Knight will promise many things, but then they are in the business to make $$$ 'first' and the driver comes 2nd....it's a fact of life for most large trucking co.s.
And altho many former Knight drivers give their testimonies & horror stories, many of those interested in Knight will have to go out and find out for themselves....and so, for those drivers, ALL experience is valuable, just dont let it ruin your attitude as a career driver. OTR is a tough industry with many hardships. -
I am a former Knight driver. Left 6 months ago because the wife was tired of being alone. Like all companies it has its good points and its bad points. For the most part it wasnt that bad. Hunting for mts and fighting with terminal shops is just what the business is turning into. I ran out of Gulfport. Hometime was never really an issue. Just make sure if you want to get home friday you tell them you want home wed. Seemed like they were always a day or two late getting me home. Money was pretty good. Could always be better but it wasnt horrible. Better than what I make as a local driver here in New Orleans. I ran 3 weeks out 1 week home. kinda nice that way. instead of 6 days home a month if you got in most weekends, you got all your time at the end of the month instead of 2 days. Dispatch is friendly and they try to keep you happy. If you arnet happy they almost always try to find ways to throw money at you to make you happy. Good Luck!!!!

All this complaining from ex drivers. Want some in sight from a new driver? I take home time when and where I want, and for how long, I keep my truck, I don't kiss anyone's arsenal, they don't care if a load is going through home and I sleep at home for a night then keep rolling in the morning. Just communicate with your dm and remember that the squeaky wheel gets the grease, tell him you want to be home on a date and you can. Refuse loads if its going the wrong way.
