    Good thread!

Yeah, I have doubles exp so we just grabbed a single trailer. They don't get crazy like Walmart with the road test. Pretty easy going. Only way you'll fail if you absolutely can't drive. I'm not use to the trans on the freightliner either. I'm use to Eaton trans. I never scratch or clash gears when I drive my international. Jumped in this truck I looked like I just started driving. But then again I was nervous too cause I wanted the job. They run 10 speeds FYI.

In SAGE we had a crappy old tractor that we practice and tested on.. When I first got into the OD truck to take their road test, I felt like I was going into a 2015 tractor. LOL. The first thing I did was look at the shifter to see what shifting pattern it was and then I did a fast glance of the controls. Of course it was easy to get used to. They did have the lane warning system, so the truck wouldn't start until the initial test of that was done. Only a few seconds.

I used a city unit for the road test cause my tester was a city guy. He said his shifter is worn out cause he road test a lot of new drivers. Haven't drove a FL since I started driving 8 yrs ago. The linehaul units are of course gonna be newer stuff. That's how LTL works as it gets old it gets retired from linehaul then put into the city. Equipment from what I saw is WAY better then my current company. I'm used to million mile plus tractors on linehaul. Lol.

With me being home everynight and sleeping in my own bed, it doesn't matter what I drive. I was told that when the city drivers arrive to the terminal, they go out and find a truck that doesn't have anyones stuff in it, and that's what they drive that day..

After my application was sent up, I remembered that I was an Uber driver for a few weekends in July abn I didnt put that as part of my working history. So I had to email the recruiter all the details. I just hope it wont he an issue with corporate and their hiring decision..

Got a call this morning from OD. Corporate needs copies of my driving school (SAGE) certificate and transcripts. Good news since it looks like my packet was good to go, minus those papers.. :O)
