Ive got peices of heater hose on the hydraulic lines to to the roll off on the R model. They will eventually wear out too, but they wear out before the hydraulic line does. I'd rather replace the peices of heater hose when i notice VS have a hydraulic line blow on a site picking up a bin...
JimmyWells Thanks this. -
Indeed! I'll probably use some of these to keep each hose separated as much as possible and whatever touches the frame etc will get the heater hose treatment.||

I always back up the factory hose clamps with those heavy black zip ties to hold the bundles tight.
And yes heater hose is the cat ###!JimmyWells Thanks this. -
@MACK E-6 Had a thread on this not to long ago, with a picture.
Here it is:

I agree with @strollinruss, this is exactly the way I do all my hoses that are rubbing on each other, held together with zip ties. If you have a couple hoses that have worn on each other remember to put that extra heater hose on both of them so that it wears on the patch itself.Oxbow, MACK E-6 and JimmyWells Thank this. -
Thanks. The response about the polyurethane was an interesting one as well.

These guys are telling you right about heater hoses. I've got "split heater hose" protecting wires, a/c lines, air lines all inside my engine well and underneath the truck too. Most of them I put there 6 or 7 years ago and none of them have needed replacing yet. I'll snap a few pics and post up tomorrow. Zip ties and heater hose is absolutely the cat's ### to prevent chaffing....
JimmyWells and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
Brake hoses too - I hunted around but wound up buying them from a TA - 1/2 inch separators, and I thought at the time - heater hose would also work -
It's 3/4 inch, right?Oxbow and JimmyWells Thank this.
