Same. They called all the junior guys in to work us and also to lay us off. Depressing way to start my Easter weekend.

Oh man, honestly it depends on who you are listening too, drivers are saying yeah it's the start of four day work weeks (rumored), CEO goes on camera and says there will be outright furloughs(fact), with neither one having terminal specifics, most of us are getting updates from drivers who know other drivers at other terminals who know other drivers at other terminals, you know how that goes.

Hang in there, man. I definitely feel for you guys. Are you gonna look for something else right away, or try and wait it out on unemployment?

Appreciate it. I have enough saved up to ride this one out till about mid summer without having to draw unemployment. If I do draw unemployment, I can make this last indefinitely. I grabbed a handful of permission slips that state I work for YRC, was essential, and was traveling between work and domicile. I am half tempted to sell the letters for $10 a pop to the non essentials to raise extra beer money.

Serious concern is cabin fever. I don't have a point in my life during the last 24 years where I didn't work.

Well that’s easy to fix. I have 10 wheels and 2 tanks you can come polish and I will not even charge you.

Take the unemployment. I know some people just won’t take handouts from the government, but the money is already allocated and we’re all going to be paying for it over the next decade anyways. You get whatever your state offers, plus $600 extra per week from the feds until July 31st.

Agreed. Don’t be too proud to use the unemployment insurance you’ve worked for to avoid having to dip in to your personal savings.
