Fun fact: 1988 was also the year that the first major virus attacked computers connected to the internet, so Al Gore must have already been active at that point.

Back in my chicken hauling daze I didn’t know what a “reset” was????
If a load fell through and it was going to be a full day before I could load I would find a motel near some good restaurants and ####tail lounges and relax!! Nothing on TV worth watching anyway.

Maybe not for everyone, but I keep a folding E-bike on my truck. It’ll cruise at about 20 mph with a range of 30 miles. Pretty much means no matter where I stop I’m within reach of finding something to do. I don’t get the bike out if I’m just doing a 10 hour break but when I have gaps between loads or I get to sleep in the next day, I’ll get it out and go exploring or go check out a restaurant somewhere or whatever I can fine to do.
I know some of y’all are set in your ways and that’s fine, but two things I’ve discovered over the last year That made being OTR kind of a game changer. One of them is the folding E bike and the other is using Instacart to buy food and have it brought right to me from basically any store around.

I just started learning how to pick locks. Don't do it unless you want to spend 34 hours pissed off.

Didn't need a browser in the beginning, browsers revolutionized the internet by making it easy for everyone to access.

I remember our first computer, a 486 built by my aunt who worked in Silicon Valley a the time. Dot matrix printer, turbo button for greater processing speed (LOL), and internet access via Prodigy Net over a 2400 baud dial-up modem in 1988.
