You really don't need to push them in at all. Park, shut off the truck, then fan the brakes down til the knobs popout. You've now done half your posttrip. In the morning when you fire it back up, if it doesn't build up air pressure you know your air brake test failed.

My company is installing voice activated brake buttons and I have the first set. All I do is say "brakes on" or "brakes off" and they pop out or they pull in. LOL:biggrin_25525:

I have mine set up like door knobs. Just turn to the right to release them and to the left to apply. You should see how I have my throttle and brakes set up.

You guys still have buttons? My seat has a sensor and everytime I stop and get out, the brakes set automatically. Then when I get back in the seat the release after 10 seconds. The trucks also got park assist like those fancy foreign cars so I dont even have to back in at truck stops. Just push the big green button on the dash and let it do its thing. Sometimes Ill go back to the sleeper and put a pot of coffee on while my truck is backing itself into a spot at the truck stop. Its pretty nice.

Jebus...but do these questions get sillier and sillier. Let's be clear here: do you have to wear fingerless driving gloves to properly set the brakes?

    Brickwall Thanks this.

I don't set the brakes, I found if I deflate the tires, the truck doesn't roll under a load.

Brickwall, Mr Ed and jcroom76 Thank this.

Lmao. Park assist. Maybe then their wouldn't be so many scraped up trailers and tore up front ends, and all those G.O.A.L stickers in you side mirrors would be garbage useless.
