Most TK units can be remotely controlled by a dispatcher. A dispatcher can turn it on, off, as well as adjust the temperature settings.

How about the people take the train then we won't have a reason to be pissed off all the time, pollution goes down, roads are safer, wages go up... Course we have to take everybody's guns first. But after that their cars. Then if we could just control when and what you eat, everything will be better. Well almost, we also need a larger part of your income for a smaller guarantee on security when you get older. And please share the fruits of your labor with those underprivileged individuals on welfare. It's hard to find a job when you're lying around smokin weed all day. Obama's on fire!!

You have to be joking, you are under the impression that the condition of aircraft maintenance and Hostess is the fault of the education system?

Please post what finance/economic sources you use, I like to read a little fiction/humor now and then.

Back to the OP, I don’t think anyone understands the complexities of any profession beyond the ones they have personal contact with. How many truckers have respect workers at sewer plants?

IMHO most people who drive cars think driving is so easy they can drive and do other stuff while driving, like write reports, internet, groom, etc, hence how hard can driving a truck be. I’m sure some drivers think trucks are just there to annoy them, and why do we even pay truck drivers, why can’t they get a real job and get the heck out of the way.

I’m not a truck driver, but most people don’t associate a big white trailer van with the stuff we need to live/enjoy life. Speaking from my own mind, when I see a truck ahead I’m thinking “do I need to get ahead of it now, later, or at a normal traffic flow?" I can tell you when I do pass a truck it is when I can get the heck out of it’s way, one I don’t like to impede others, but mainly I don’t want to be a semi’s crumple zone.

I always wondered what happens if the reefer decides to quit working or runs out of fuel. Someone will be receiving some rotten produce.

Stereotypes can be a sad thing, as I love the trucking industry and have a high respect for truckers and yet the people on the outside compare all of us to the lazy, unsafe, idiotic, dirty guys out there. I am a handsome single guy and when I go out a lot of women are interested in me but when I tell them that I am a trucker their smile disappears quickly. If I had a choice between trucking and a drama queen I choose trucking :)

Yeah that is sad but true. Being a trucker is one step above a garbage man. Not that there is anything wrong with trash collectors. They have my respect. Seems women all want a doctor or lawyer nowadays.
