Are there too many students for the the number of trucks?
Are there too many students and trucks for the number of trainers?
Do they make sure that each student gets enough time in the trucks to pass the exams?
If you fail the exam do you get another try?
I'd like to know that I will recieve adequate training and get a fair shot at passing the CDL test before going.
How is the range training at swift academy?

At the Phoenix Academy you will have to have your AZ CDL permit BEFORE you start training on the range.
I found the training adequate, BUT I had driven truck in the past so I knew what to expect and had no issues. Some students commented that the training was too fast paced for someone who had never driven a truck.
In my class 1 guy failed straight line backing, 1 guy quit just before we started on the road week, and 1 guy was so bad during road week they didn't allow him to test. Testing was done by academy personal. -

If you fail the exam you go back for another week on the range. I'm pretty sure if you fail the second week you're declared too useless for existence and they use you for taco meat in the cafeteria.

Smells like a lawyer...
Swift's academy training in Phoenix was good. They give you plenty of time behind the wheel to learn the maneuvers necessary for the CDL test. You have 2 chances to perform the maneuvers before they send you home. If you can't do the simple backings/parallel park they require after a week of practice then you probably shouldn't be driving a truck, so I support that policy. I passed everything on the first try without any previous experience, aced the final CDL test, I now have 250,000 safe miles behind me, so I can't really say anything bad about the academy. -

I picked up a student one time that came from the Academy, and the first time that he had to do a back into a dock, he did not know what do to. Said that they were only showed one time during training. They concentrated on straight line, off set and parraell. I think that Joe is used during orientation. Even in Mentor class we had to take a course with him
