How is your CM 2250 engine treating you?

two 12 and 13 Volvo 780s. 670k and 780k miles. on one of them turbo actuator was replaced under warranty. on both trucks nox sensors were replaced and def injectors. We have upgraded fuel pumps. Both units have high oil consumption. 1 gallon every 6000-6500 miles. 500 hp engines. Never towed, never stopped on shoulder. pulling strong. They run east west cost, usually reefer loads.

 

almost all cm2250 burn oil. during inframe pistons and liners must be changed to new design.

 

Mine has around 469-470K. Bought it used from a fleet at around 358K. It has treated me well so far, but I am considering replacing it with something new before too long, next year or so. I've been getting about 5.5-6 MPG on local back roads in the PA hills and closer to 7-7.5 MPG on longer runs across the midwest, typically running whatever the speed limit is.

 

Im getting 7.9 on 40k loads 8.4 30k and under running mostly flat country at 63 65 mph. But i have a 99 Detroit 12.7 in my glider . Sorry
